We haven't seen them with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Currently Living at: DC area foster home Special adoption considerations: Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. Melody needs to go to a home with a confident, welcoming resident dog who will show her the ropes. Melody is Looking For: Her forever home! Melody is a sato - a dog from Puerto Rico. She is in her prime as a young dog and hasn't seen enough of the world - she's eager to get her own humans for sniffy walks and romps in parks and all the adventures her family can dream up. Making pup pals along the way would be great, as would going to dog school so she can show how super smart she is. One look into her deep, expressive eyes and you’ll see exactly what she’s searching for: a family to love, a place to belong, and a lifetime of shared adventures. What My Foster Says About Me: Melody is a sweet, affectionate girl who loves being close to her people! She has settled beautifully into her foster home and enjoys snuggling on the sofa, following her foster around the house, and being a cozy pillow during naps. She's also a nice walking companion who doesn't tend to pull or jump on the leash, enjoys sniffing and exploring, and is happy with walks of different lengths. She's had no accidents in her foster home and now sleeps comfortably in her crate at night. Melody can be a little shy at first, but she warmed up to people at adoption events and happily accepted pets, even asking for more! Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
